  1. Any word on whether or not he can pinch hit?

    • Anonymous

      Puig is “day to day.”

      • Eric Enders

But then, aren’t we all, as one of our old friends likes to say.

      • Anonymous

Hopefully, not in the way that Hanley is.

  2. Jack Dawkins

Did he strain his shoulder trying to throw one of those haymakers last night?

  3. Asher B. Garber

This team sure packs some drama.

Don Mattingly told reporters on Tuesday that Puig was “a little sore” from the brawl, per Pedro Moura of the Orange County Register.
Puig “took 5 swings of batting practice walked off field threw his bats
and helmet in dugout then walked to clubhouse with trainers,” per Vincent Bonsignore of the Los Angeles Daily News.

    Every day, a new adventure.

After the last post, I don’t really care what happens the rest of this year!! – no, not really :)

  6. Anonymous

Eric Young, Jr was DFA’d by the Rockies today. I think it’s time for the Dodgers to claim another short utility man.

When looking to see why Ethier is hitting 6th in THIS lineup (1-9 vs. Corbin w/ 5K explains it), I noticed our best BA vs. Corbin belongs to Stephen Fife, with 1 hit in 1 AB.

  8. Anonymous

5, 7, and 8 all moved up in the batting order but Andre stayed at 6, Castellanos at now at 8.
Please keep in mind this comment of 7 hrs ago: “We’ll see what kind of leader Mattingly is today. A good one will be able to channel that energy into on-field production.”

This comment was reprinted approvingly 6 hrs ago to my amazement.

The Australia games were officially announced today by the Dodgers, DBacks, and MLB. Arizona will be the home team for both games. So Kershaw vs. Corbin on March 22 in Sydney. Then Greinke vs. Kennedy the next day.

    • Anonymous

      Yesssssssssssssss.
      I have a problem:
If I can only go to 1 game, do I go see our best in action or do I go see Brawl part 2 :)

    • Anonymous

I don’t know whether you’re being facetious, but it would make more sense for each team to have one home game.

      • Anonymous

Nope, both games are Arizona home games. I doubt the Dodgers would have given up two home dates. Arizona likely doesn’t care as much. The Dodgers will be the drawing card in Australia, even if Arizona finishes this season with a far superior record.

        • Anonymous

          The Dodgers sure will be!

          • Anonymous

Have their been any other Aussies on Arizona besides Trent Oeltjen?

          • Anonymous

Not sure, I didn’t realise Moylan was an Aussie until the other day!

  10. Jack Dawkins

I see the dodger pregame show is playing up the brawl big time.

    • Anonymous

I am glad I am not at home to listen to Steve Lyons give his expert opinion.

  11. Eric Enders

I’m always glad for any excuse to watch that Strangelove scene. Gets my vote for single funniest line in movie history.

    • Anonymous

I was very pleased to find its existence.

  12. KT

    Nice Ryu!!

  13. KT

Another DP…I’m loving it…(let the dirty comments commence)

  14. Oh come on Ramon.

Also, how is that not an error?

  15. KT

    inning should be over 1-0

  16. Anonymous

I just got home from umpiring a youth baseball tournament game. No brawls. And then I saw our lineup. Ouch.

    • KT

then you missed RH dropping a one hop strike from JH jr. to let ross score…score should be 1-0

      • Anonymous

Thanks. Sounds like some of the plays I witnessed tonight.

        • KT

if he fields it cleanly…he out by 2 steps…took his eyes off it and just left it in the dirt

  17. KT

    Juanito!!

  18. KT

Scratched and now to keep doing it
    Castle!!

  19. KT

    RYU!!!

  20. KT

Now to bring him home and tie this game

  21. KT

    PUNTO!

  22. Bottom of the order getting it done!

On Ryu’s triple, I bet almost half the guys on the team would have had an inside the park home run.

    • Jack Dawkins

Watching it live, it felt like a slow motion replay the way he was laboring on the way to third.

  23. KT

    Mellis!

  24. KT

    Gonzo!!

  25. Adrian finally had a good at bat against Corbin.

  26. KT

Good inning…had to stop my solitaire game

  27. Great rally, and the stadium really seems up for it tonight.

  28. Anonymous

Where did that inning come from? Wonderful…

  29. Anonymous

2 doubles, 3 singles, a triple – what in the heck is going on

  30. Jack Dawkins

vin with He seop Choi talk.

  31. Nice escape Monster!

  32. Hey all… Just got finished exhaling after that inning.

  33. Anonymous

I was wondering why the starkly different organ playing the last 2 nights, and turns out Nancy Bea’s husband’s having heart surgery and is out. Whoever the sub is has quite a different style and repertoire – and is playing a lot more than she does, including in between pitches and after the 7th inning, two instances in which she does not. Which ends my “Let Nancy Bea Play” campaign; she just doesn’t want to, bless her.

  34. Really curious to see Withrow pitch. He’s gotta come in next, right?

    • Anonymous

If he does – I’m glad he gets to come in at the start of an inning and not with the bases loaded.

  35. 98 MPH? Jeepers.

  36. KT

    Beautiffuuuullll wrinkle

  37. KT

Parra has a bandaid on the back of his neck…a big one, probably earned last night

  38. Anonymous

This is Withrow’s seventh year with the Dodger system, his first in both AAA and the majors. Yet, he is only 24.

  39. Anonymous

Another “quality start” by a Dodger hurler without a win. At least Ryu won’t lose it.

  40. Stuff looked good, he was just picking at corners too much. Then he seemed to lose control.

  41. KT

    Nice Paco!!

  42. KT

    count should be 3-0

  43. Anonymous

Old friend Tony Abreu (07, 09) had three hits for the Giants tonight in their 12-8 loss in Pittsburgh

  44. KT

    Blown play by Saxy?

  45. KT

time to scratch again…come on guys, Let’s win this one

  46. Anonymous

Montero’s blooper which drove in Goldschmidt to tie the game is called a line-drive on gameday.

Never noticed that bad a mistake there.

  47. KT

    Beautiful pitch

  48. KT

Come on Dre start it off …or end it whichever you perfer

  49. KT

    terrible at bat

    • Anonymous

True, but at least he didn’t hit a ground ball with two strikes.

  50. Anonymous

Am I correct in thinking that by PH-ing Hanley here, they can now no longer put him on the DL, retroactive to 5 or 6 games ago, or however long it’s been?

  51. Sh………….ucks.

  52. Anonymous

    Please send KJ back out.

    • Anonymous

This not being high school baseball, Jansen could not come out to pitch again.

      • Anonymous

Ha. Not used to the pitcher batting in the pitcher’s spot late in the game!

  53. Anonymous

Hanley had last played on Saturday, so he had missed only three games (Sunday, Monday and yesterday).

    • He better start a game this weekend or they’re going to look real dumb for not putting him on the DL.

      • Anonymous

they think he will play on Friday; but the Dodgers’ medical staff wants to be certain the swelling in Ramirez’s left knee and hamstring goes down so he can run without
discomfort before clearing him to play.

  54. According to Ken Gurnick Puig was warming up last inning with a bat in the dugout before the Dodgers chose to use Hanley. Why wouldn’t you then use him for say Shumaker?

  55. Anonymous

Hanley played in 2 games for the Red Sox in ’05; struck out once in each of 2 games late in season. Then, traded to the Marlins in Nov. in a 4 for 3 trade that brought Beckett, Mike Lowell, and old friend G. Mota.
Mota had gone to the Marlins from the Dodgers along with Paul Lo Duca and Juan Encarnacion for Hee-Seop Choi, Brad Penny, and Bill Murphy.
Murphy never played for thr Dodgers; but, was part of the trade that brought Steve Finley.

  56. Anonymous

This is the first game this season that Gonzalez has struck out three times.

  57. KT

    no no no no

    • Anonymous

      perhaps you prefer League?

      • KT

right now I would prefer Gueirrer…I know but belli is terrible with inherited runners

  58. Anonymous

In spite of timmer’s learned post below, why couldn’t Jansen pitch another inning with a day off tomorrow?

  59. Anonymous

Wouldn’t surprise me if Belisario hit somebody, but I sure hope not.

  60. Yeesh, Hairston saved that one.

  61. KT

    YES!!!

  62. Anonymous

    I love you Jerry.

  63. Anonymous

    Heart pounding inning.

  64. Anonymous

Don’t they let fans come into the good seats behind home plate this late in a game?

    • KT

no way to get there unless you are already in the good seat area

      • Anonymous

        thanks
it looks bad with so few fans there imo

        • Anonymous

I think that there is a larger percentage of true fans in other, less expensive sections of the stadium.

  65. Anonymous

but who calls that livin’ when no gal will give in

  66. Anonymous

It’s like the Dodgers are using Puig tonight as the anti-closer. Only use him if they have fallen behind in the game…

  67. Anonymous

Okay, now bring in Guerrier. He’s loose, right? Sigh.

  68. Is it bad of me to be kinda hoping for another fight at this point?

  69. KT

WTH is that shit they do every time they get a hit?

  70. KT

night all…my son needs to be put to bed

  71. Belli seems to have lost his effectiveness.

  72. This all sets up the Puig two run home run for the win, yeah?

  73. Anonymous

    Sigh.

  74. Oh, wait, League is coming in….. make that a 7 run home run.

  75. Anonymous

League, with the bases loaded. Yikes.

  76. They brought in the gun in case of a fly ball. Unfortunately they got a hit.

  77. The shoulder looked okay there!

  78. Anonymous

    Puig can pitch, right?

  79. Are there any people left in the stadium? I’d have walked out by now.

  80. Anonymous

The jury has returned with a verdict on Belisario. Jurors were already in the penalty phase of the trial for League.

  81. Anonymous

League has gone from closer to poser.

  82. You know who would be great to have on the bench for a time like this?

    Manny.

I better go to bed soon, I’m starting to lose it.

  83. Anonymous

Almost 1:30 here in Winnipeg, but I remain strangely riveted to this game.

  84. Now that Puig scored can he bat again???

  85. Anonymous

    Fedex or Cruz?

  86. Anonymous

Time for a late night special delivery…

  87. Anonymous

    And Cruz in to run.

  88. Another game blown late… ugh.

  89. One step up (and 50 fists thrown) and two steps back…

  90. Anonymous

The two-out, two-run single allowed by League proved to be the coup de gras.

  91. Bah. Can we get Saito and Broxton back?

  92. Anonymous

Was that the 16th loss by our bullpen?

  93. Anonymous

Is League ready to go on the DL? Surely, he must have at least one sore hamstring. Perhaps Belisario has one as well. Everyone else seems to have one on this team.

  94. Anonymous

With all this money, we can’t buy a bullpen?

  95. Anonymous

    NPUT
