Dodger Thoughts

Jon Weisman's outlet for dealing psychologically with the Los Angeles Dodgers, baseball and life

Vin Scully suits up for interview, 2016 return

By Jon Weisman

In his first interview since the end of the 2015 regular season, Vin Scully re-confirms that he is definitely returning to the Dodgers in 2016.

Scully spoke to SportsNet LA’s Alanna Rizzo today for a conversation that will air at 7 p.m. Thursday.

“Yes,” Scully told Rizzo in regards to the 2016 season. “Oh yeah, definitely. I’m looking forward to next year, maybe because it’s my last year. I’m looking forward to it as much as my second year, because I got by the first year and I was so thrilled there was another one coming up — well, that’s how I feel about ’16. I am chafing at the bit.”

Scully underwent a medical procedure three weeks ago that sidelined him from postseason duty, but he was his vibrant self today, pulling up a chair (if you will) opposite Rizzo.

World Series Game 1 had something for everyone — even Dodger fans

Report: Don Mattingly to manage Marlins

  1. Well, he looks like … Vin. He sounds like … Vin. So here’s to him feeling well and back in 2016. And I still think there’s some daylight in terms of whether it really is his last year.

  2. From a loyal San Francisco Giants fan. I love Hall of Fame Broadcaster Vin Scully. Vinny is the best and it’s such a treat to listen to Vin call a Giants vs. Dodgers game. Vin is a class act and a Man for Others.

We see players, managers, front offices and ownerships come and go, but none of that will be like the departing of Vin Scully. The end of an era, is an understatement.

  4. I am happy to see that Vin scully doing well he a great Dodgers Voice of the game play by play just like Chick Hern from the Los Angeles Lakers that we Lost him vin been around the Dodgers for very Longest time in his Career it good to see him next year I want to ask Vin Scully I wish I had his Autagraph and Tommy Loasorda.. so I want the Giants to know that I feel sad what happen to brain stone there is no reason for any of us as dodgers fans to beat someone up we are all human we should respect one another there is no reason to go out and get into a big fight it not going to solved anyone problem when you fight you are breaking the Law that get you in Trouble to end up in Jail it no fun to go to jail it make you lose your freedom when the giants comes to dodgers town it only just a game just like your son play on a team game…anyway I miss going to the dodgers game but I watch it on tv I have no way to go there and try to get home I am disabled my left eyes is legally blind..i live alone I am 46 years old male single I been single way too long I am very lonely I need a nice woman but no one interested in me cause I’m not good looking women see my picture they say I’m ugly looking guy that hurt my feeling.. so anyway I am glad that vin coming back for 2016 season with the Dodgers..go Vin and Go Dodgers Blue..GOD Bless you Vin Scully and Jesus is Lord..Amen thank Mike
