Chris Taylor, the infielder acquired by the Dodgers from the Mariners six days ago for Zach Lee, has been promoted from Triple-A Oklahoma City.
Nick Tepesch, who went four innings in the Dodgers’ 8-6 loss Friday to Pittsburgh, has been designated for assignment.
In three games with Oklahoma City since the trade, Taylor has gone 6 for 12 with three doubles, three RBI and a stolen base, along with four strikeouts.
Overall in Triple-A this year, the 25-year-old has a .392 on-base percentage and .471 slugging percentage with 13 steals in 18 attempts. His 22 doubles rank third in the Pacific Coast League.
Taylor, who also went 1 for 3 with Seattle earlier this year, provides an additional bat off the bench for the Dodgers. Mainly a shortstop, he also has played second and third.
Kike is on hot seat, if Taylor shows he’s better in next 4 games, he could be sent down for the next 5th starter.
