Following the two-year extension of their affiliations August 3 with Triple-A Oklahoma City, Double-A Tulsa and Single-A Great Lakes, the Dodgers announced Thursday they had done the same with Single-A Rancho Cucamonga through the 2018 season.
Rancho Cucamonga has been in partnership with the Dodgers since 2011, meaning that Dodgers as seasoned as Kenley Jansen have played there. Clayton Kershaw, Andre Ethier, Brett Anderson, Brandon McCarthy, A.J. Ellis and Justin Turner are among those who have made rehab trips there as well.
“Our fans love being able to enjoy watching the top talent in the Dodgers’ minor league system on their way to Los Angeles,” Quakes vice president and general manager Grant Riddle said. “And with so many rehabbing players that the Dodgers have sent to LoanMart Field over the last six years, it’s really been a treat for our fans.”
Brock Stewart and Andrew Toles began their 2016 seasons with Rancho before making the climb all the way to the big leagues this year.
“We are extremely happy to continue our partnership with the Quakes for two more years,” director of player development Gabe Kapler said. “Grant, Brent (Miles, team president), their staff, the city of Rancho Cucamonga and Quakes fans work together to create an atmosphere and environment that helps our players develop every day. We are confident that our affiliation will continue to produce outstanding Dodgers player for years to come.”
