Brock Stewart, recently named the Dodgers’ top pitching prospect, has won the award from Minor League Baseball — the MiLBY — as its top starting pitcher. Stewart, whom we’ve chronicled throughout the year, was the subject of a new feature by Tyler Maun of MiLB.com.

  1. Jon, how likely do you think it is we’ll see Wood, Stewart, Urías, and/or Stripling holding down the 4 & 5 slots next season? or even 3-5? it’s not like the vets that were brought in have proved reliable: Anderson, Ryu, McCarthy, Hill – all can do the job, but something like a dozen starts between them in 2 years here. (Kazmir & Norris, i hope, are long gone.) i want to see, as Vin would put it, youth served. thanks.

I think it’s possible that that group takes three spots, but we’re a long way away. Would assume Kazmir would be back with Kershaw and Maeda, with McCarthy and Ryu in the mix if healthy.
