Rockies rock relief feat against Kemp, Ethier

Hey, if you can strike out Matt Kemp and Andre Ethier with the bases loaded, I tip my hat to you.

Colorado used three relievers to retire Kemp, Ethier and pinch-hitter Juan Rivera to escape the sacks-filled, none-out situation in the seventh inning tonight at Coors Field, enabling the Rockies to take a 5-2 lead into the bottom of the seventh.

Kemp hit his 12th home run of April in the first inning, and also had a catch above the center-field wall in the fifth, but Aaron Harang was nicked for five runs on seven baserunners in 5 2/3 innings.

LAT’d: If there’s anything positive to come out of this game, it may be MacDougal’s DFA.

  2. KT

    Excellent catch Mark

Can the Dodgers please stop losing when their games are on KCAL 9???

Will Kennedy, MacDougal, or Elbert be involved in the first personnel decision for new ownership when they take over, hopefully tomorrow?

  5. KT

    Come on AJ

  6. KT

    Got them that time…nice relay

  7. KT

Dee got squeezed or whatever you call a wide zone for the batter

With Buster Posey behind the plate, that would have been a run, or a trip to the DL.

    Night all…see you tomorrow

I couldn’t watch the game from start to finish, so did Rivera PH for Loney? If so why? If there is one stadium where is a threat isn’t it coors light stadium?

Loney is my main entertainment when watching the Dodgers so I lost twice–didn’t get to see Loney hit with bases loaded, Rivera being an easy out.

    • KT

Yea they brought in their Lefty specialist to face Ethier and after he struck out Donnie figured Loney wouldn’t be able to do anything against him either so Rivera pinch hit

  11. So that’s what happened. That looked like a potentially great inning when I switched off to go to TV news and dinner prep. Hard to believe both our horses struck out.

Completely off-topic, Confederate Memorial Day was celebrated on Santa Monica Boulevard?  Looks like a, well, interesting affair:

That’s what might be called putting the South into Southern California.
