Ted Lilly has gone on the disabled list with left shoulder inflammation. Michael Antonini has been called up to work out of the bullpen if needed tonight, with Nathan Eovaldi set to take Lilly’s scheduled start Tuesday.

So far in 2012, Eovaldi has a 3.09 ERA for Double-A Chattanooga with 30 strikeouts against 45 baserunners in 35 innings.

I hope this helps Lilly; he has been very good and a real pick me up for this team.

And given the good position the Dodgers are in, I would have made Kemp take another week off to be sure he can’t agravate it, but its too late as he obviously has been swinging for the fences .

I think the way we are going we could have every one of our starters on the DL and we would find someone else to step up to the mark

  3. hmmm  didnt see that coming

“Inflammation” sounds better than “torn rotator cuff.”

So true; plus I am all for seeing Eovaldi come up to the big club and actually pitch unlike the last time he was in LA!

It will be interesting to see if Gordon remains in the #8 spot in the batting order when Kemp returns. Small sample size of course, but he seems to have had some success there.  But I fear Don thinks that the spot belongs to AJ.

Is the Tar Tar Pits a restaurant that specializes in fish dishes with a really tasty tartar sauce?

  7. I just looked over today’s Dodgers lineup and the batting averages seemed pretty impressive. So I did some calculating. The collective batting average for positions 1 through 7 is .319. Even including Gordon, it’s .308.  Somebody pinch me. Who would have thought that would be possible on May 28th, and without Kemp.

    Good play Jerry

Nice hitting, and hustle, by Andre.

    Great hustle Dre.

Gah, I hate giving up the out bunting in the 1st. Jr. was already in scoring position. Does Donnie know they don’t have a healthy catcher?

If Herrera sacrifices every time up, he will keep his hitting streak alive.

And if he hits a sac fly, or walks, or HBPs?

AJ with the Screaming swinging bunt

Dodgers being evasive on Lilly, but apparently offered Oswalt a contract per TBrown of Yahoo. Sounds like a serious injury to me. Also interesting they don’t want to give EO the spot permanently.

    Beautiful Catch By Bobby

Nice bit of hit and run by Dre

  20. KT

  21. KT

    Good DP

Time to get that one back guys

  22. Pretty good job of interpretive reading, Vinnie.

    foot was on the bag

Here comes another written apology in the next few days

    • Christopher Staaf

If the Dodgers lose by one run because of this play, I am sure Donnie will speak his mind about instant replay again. Loney’s foot was clearly touching the bag. Oh well.

      • KT

That play cost us 2 runs chris

        • bcmaiden

Crap, 2 runs looks unlikely with the offense MIA today. Dodgers have historically been bad vs. junk ballers, especially LH junk ballers.

        • Christopher Staaf

I am gonna be optimistic and say we are gonna be OK.

    • KT

So the ump hurt us with his call…hopefully it doesn’t cost us the game

    • KT

That would have been 3 outs no runs

  25. bcmaiden

Coffey? Seems early for the white flag.

    • Christopher Staaf

He actually pitched well. I am gonna take this as a good sign!

      • bcmaiden

Hope so, we need another reliable arm.

Hairston 9 for his last 12 and 12 for his last 20.

Come on Blue. Giants won. Can’t lose a game to them.

  28. KT

    Good hit Bobby

  29. KT

    NICE Jerry!!

    • Christopher Staaf

Gonna have to do it in the 9th.

Unusually, AJ swings at a bad pitch.

  31. KT

been losing almost all night long at solitaire….usually when I win the Dodgers win…just had a winning hand to put me ahead….Here’s to hoping the theory works

    • KT

Didn’t work ended up winning big…I think it’s because we should have won but the ump blew my “Karma , Theory, whatever you want to call it”

  32. KT

    Good Eye IDJ jr

  33. KT

usually don’t watch the post game when we lose but have to stand by and hear what Donnie has to say

    • Christopher Staaf

I hope he takes the high road. That guy at 1st is working the plate tomorrow.

      • KT

No he said “he was tired of being diplomatic” and called a horse a horse (my words not his)

You mean you watched Padres Live!
That’s what they flashed on the screen.

  34. KT

on the single to center braun who wasn’t being held on only makes it to second. So if they still bunt with 1 out then the runners would have been at 1st and 3rd with 2 outs and the SAC fly is just a fly out, no runs score…Why is everyone still thinking 1 run scores that inning if the ump makes the correct call

  35. KT

so we lost ground to SF and Colo
