Would love to meet and get autographs from either of these two greats.

We had a great haul from the past weekend @ Camelback:Tim Leary from the 88 team, coaches; Don Mattingly, Mark McGwire, Davey Lopes, Franklin Stubbs, Steve Yeager, Hector Berrios. Players; Carl Crawford, Adrian Gonzales, Elian Herrera, Scott Elbert, Matt Magill, Alfredo Amezaga, Steve Ames and 1 autograph I didn’t recognize the person and couldn’t decifer the signature. I think he’s a minor leaguer who slipped through the big leaguer’s field. He looked like a smaller version of Dee Gordon if you can image that.

  2. Jon, I finally got around to buying “100 Things” today.

I heard news that Variety was going to become a print weekly and web-only daily. I hope that doesn’t affect your livelihood.

I don’t think I have seen a smiling Koufax on a baseball card or I would have added him to my smiling baseball player video

Old DT friend note: Regfairfield’s wife had a child, paternity of which Andrew is claiming, seemingly without dispute.

Schumaker already reminding me of Aaron Miles.

One decent season playing over his head — I’d settle for that.  I do believe he’ll have more long term value than Miles though.  I’d much rather have Schumaker than Punto though.  I still don’t get why he is a roster lock.

Punto is the part of the Gonzalez deal that still irks the bejesus out of me.  “I know we’re forcing you to take on the albatross contracts of Josh Beckett and Carl Crawford, but we still won’t let you have Adrian Gonzalez unless you take Nick Punto and his $2 million off our hands.   Did he go David Wells on somebody’s wife in Red Sox Nation?  Why was Boston so glad to be rid of him?  I admit the pulling off shirts thing is a little gay, but it’s not like the Red Sox can’t afford new jerseys.
