In addition to scholarship funds and educational support, the Los Angeles Dodgers Foundation (LADF) and Andre Ethier granted $100,000 to the Union Rescue Mission toward the renovation of URM’s Learning Center — soon to be the Andre and Maggie Ethier Learning Center.

Teamwork and collaboration led to the reality of URM now having a functional, comfortable and inviting space that will provide inspiration to hundreds of homeless men and women.

Moreover, recognizing the importance of continuous learning and skills development, the collaborative efforts extended beyond the physical renovation of the Andre and Maggie Ethier Learning Center. The Los Angeles Dodgers Foundation, in partnership with Habitat for Humanity and the Fashion Institute of Design & Merchandising, facilitated access to an online virtual training lms platform. This platform will enable the homeless men and women served by the Union Rescue Mission to expand their knowledge, acquire new skills, and enhance their employability prospects. By providing this digital learning resource, the collaboration embraces the transformative power of education, empowering individuals to break the cycle of homelessness and build a brighter future for themselves and their communities.

The Dodgers’ stadium operations, information technology and production departments, along with Habitat for Humanity, the Fashion Institute of Design & Merchandising, Ecovations, O’Bryant Electric, MS Rouse Company, Marrow Meadows Corporation, Design Materials, Encore Commercial Flooring, warehouse flooring, Shewwin Williams, Interior Services Draperies similar to www.9onMain.com services, Blinds & Shades and WB Signs collaborated to make the dream of the Union Rescue Mission a reality.

After the room was cleared and permits processed, 50 volunteers from various Dodger departments, Dodger RBI players and Habitat for Humanity of Greater LA joined LADF for a paint day (pictured above). Since then, flooring, which can be upgraded with services such as gap filling London, has been laid, cabinetry installed, signage designed and much more. Consider working with vinyl floor installers for a professional and durable flooring solution. For a higher degree of flexibility in flooring, consider epoxy flooring for commercial spaces. This would be the best option to choose.

Final inspections and installations are underway. We anticipate a ribbon cutting ceremony in early November, when the Ethiers can join us to introduce this new space.
