Jon Weisman's outlet for dealing psychologically with the Los Angeles Dodgers, baseball and life

Dodger Stadium, November, night

Dodger Stadium is a beautiful ballpark at any time, but there’s something about seeing it on a quiet, offseason night when it’s virtually empty that has taken my fancy. I’m no Jon SooHoo, and these photos were all taken with my cellphone, but I hope you’ll enjoy them just the same. There’s light in darkness …

  1. Jon, as a Dodger fan stuck living all my 36 yrs in Connecticut, thank you for these pics. One of these days I will somehow get to see my guys in home whites. One day!

  3. …Still a gem of a park!

  4. Jon, you do it GREAT justice — and, by the way, Happy Birthday!

The pictures are haunting. I’ve always felt that an empty ballpark, school yard, playground or Dodger Stadium, are very lonely moments. It, to me at least, is like someone staying too long at the party. Everyone has gone and you’ve forgotten to leave. They all knew the time had come but you stayed too long at the Fair. 6. Any stories of ghosts haunting Chavez Ravine? Maybe a grumpy hot dog vendor who met an untimely demise circa 1971?

  7. Jon,

Great job. Ever see AFI’s Visions of Light? Great exploration of early black and white films and the create use of light to create depth in a monochromatic world.
