A 2015 World Series with the Dodgers now exists only in our imaginations. It takes me back to another event that never was: the 1951 Dodgers-Yankees World Series. Above is the cover of the program that would have gone on sale, if not for Bobby Thomson.

Here’s an example of one of the pages.

Another program from Neverland was for the 1946 World Series, featuring the Dodgers and Red Sox but rendered to oblivion when the Dodgers lost a tiebreaker series for the National League pennant to the St. Louis Cardinals.

The images are such antiques, it’s hard for me to place myself in a moment where these pages were part of a future, rather than a past. Everything that’s not present is a dream, I guess.
