Here’s a fun comparison* between arguably baseball’s best closer, Kenley Jansen, and baseball’s best starter, Clayton Kershaw.
In the late innings (i.e., after the sixth), they have both been brilliant — and nearly identical.
*partially inspired by Jayson Stark’s ESPN.com column, which names Kershaw the best National League pitcher of the quarter-season.

It can’t be much consolation for major league hitters to see Kershaw leave the game and have Jansen enter it. That might be the best starting pitcher/closer combo of all time.
For those who like baseball audio there is a blog called inches per second that has a portion of a 1958 radio broadcast of a Cubs/Dodger game on the website. There’s a pregame interview with Pee Wee Reese and the first inning of the game on the website. Too bad it’s not Vin and Jerry but even though it’s the Cubs radio broadcasters it is still a joy to hear. As far as I know it is the earliest LA Dodger game where at least some of the broadcast has been preserved. I have heard the briefest of clips of Vin from opening day at the LA Coliseum in 1958 but that clip did not include game action.
