It had been too long. Over four decades following the Dodgers, and not once had I dined in the Stadium Club.

So it was with great pleasure that I took on the assignment of checking out the Stadium Club Sunday Brunch — an extravagant, all-you-can-eat buffet exclusively for Stadium Club members.

If you’re a season-ticket or mini-plan holder, you can become a Stadium Club member for the entire season, for a cost that averages out to only a few dollars per game. The Stadium Club Sunday Brunch is one of the many perks.

Here are my top five reasons for taking advantage of this opportunity:

1) Food. Choices. Abundance. All-you-can-eat. I feel like that says a lot right there. Here’s the menu from the day I went:

But don’t worry — if someone’s keen on a Dodger Dog, you can get one there too. And there were also extra dessert options as well, including the funnel cake fries and chocolate tamale.

2) Kid-friendly. I had visions of kids complaining all the way to a frantic search for the cotton candy vendors. But they had every bit as much enjoyment as we did, both of the food and the setting. (The surprise Easter gift bags didn’t hurt — not the last surprise the Stadium Club has to offer, I’m told.)

3) The setting. There are great views of Dodger Stadium everywhere, but the view from the Stadium Club balcony isn’t easily topped. I would say “you could reach out and almost touch the foul pole,” but kids might actually take that too seriously.

4) Belly up to the bar. The bar was hopping when we were there — clearly, the opportunity to mix with other dedicated Dodger fans was a big draw for Stadium Club patrons.

5) Comfort zone. Or as I think about it, peace before playtime. How nice is it to be able to relax after your journey to Dodger Stadium and before the game excitement starts? The Stadium Club Sunday Brunch answers that question.

We’ll wrap things up with my 9-year-old’s appraisal of the Stadium Club Sunday Brunch: “Kind of classy. But also Dodgery.”
